I was out at the thrift store when I found this cool shaped wood piece. Since I love the beach, I knew I had to buy it and make something with it.

Tools Used:
Removable Vinyl
Transfer Paper
Weeder Tool
Trimmer OR Scissors
Cutting Machine (I use Cricut Maker 3)
Wood Piece
Acrylic Paint
Brushes
Paint Markers
Cricut Cutting Mat
STEP ONE: Cut SVG file to vinyl – Transfer to wood piece. I kept the sun vinyl on until the end as I wanted to paint it black.
STEP TWO: Remove the background vinyl and keep the in cuts then get those paints READY!!! Yellows, oranges, blues galore! Paint a sunset on top. To create the faded effect, I added water to my brush. I duplicated the same process for the water at the bottom. Let it dry.
STEP THREE: Peel off the rest of the vinyl. For painting of the sun and words, I used paint markers. I sometimes use a brush to fill in, but I find I can be much more precise with the paint markers. They are awesome if you don’t have a steady hand. These will help you have those pro clean lines.
STEP FOUR: Add your favorite finish once it’s completely dry. I like to wait a day before adding the finish. I’ve implemented this 24hr rule for myself as I get so excited to finish that I have in the past smeared the paint. 😐 Sometimes 5yr old me in my head saying “IS IT DRY YET?” wins!
